Borrowing
The collection supports the entire NC State University community with special emphasis on students, faculty, and staff researching and/or connected to Africana Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies and the Interdisciplinary Studies Course (IDS). The African American Cultural Center Library is an affiliate of the NC State University Libraries.
You can browse the shelves and check out items in person, or request items to be sent to one of the main library branches through the catalog, with an expected delivery time of 4 to 7 business days. The AACC library also has a growing collection of technology to check out in person. We hope to see you soon!

Services
The library has wireless access, offering an NC State University network for faculty, staff, and students, as well as a guest network for visitors.
Using your personal computer, you can access library services offered through the NC State University Libraries:
- Access to the collections through the library’s search interface
- Combined access to the library catalogs of NC State, Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, and North Carolina Central University through the Library Catalog (choose Triangle research libraries)
- AskUs service, with staff available 24 hours to provide help IM, text message, email, or phone
- Access to digitized images and texts from the Special Collections Research Center with historical information about NC State
- Course-related services, including Course Tools and Course Reserves
- Interlibrary Services, for requesting books or articles not available at NC State

The library and gallery, and 3rd floor spaces will remain open until 10pm so bring your study groups, friends or come solo to join us for a warm and supportive environment as you lock in on your goals!

You`re invited to visit our National Library Week VizGallery Exhibit!📚🖼️✨
This three-day digital exhibit will be on view in the Cyma Rubin Visualization Gallery with a closing reception on April 10, 2026 at 12pm-2pm. All are welcome to attend.💝
This exhibit brings together collections from Triangle area libraries and special collections that highlight the richness of African American and Afro-diasporic life and expression. From rare books and archival records to photographs, oral histories, creative works, and community ephemera, these materials open pathways to learning about the ideas, creativity, scholarship, and everyday experiences that shape our broader society. 📚✨
Visitors from all backgrounds are invited to explore how libraries and archives increase access to knowledge, encourage curiosity, and support cultural understanding. 🌍✨

The rich community, support, and resources of NC State University and our neighboring library collections will also be demonstrated.
