FAQ:
What is a hold?
- A hold is what we call it when a patron requests us to pull a book from the library shelves and hold it for them to pick up from the circulation desk or Ask Us desk.
- If you are interested in a book that is listed as “Not Available,” in the catalog that means all copies are currently checked out. By placing the item on hold, you are putting yourself in a queue with other patrons who have requested the item. A hold prevents the current borrower from renewing the book.
- You will receive notification via email that the book is available for pickup at the library of your choice.
- When items are unavailable you also have the option of requesting the book through interlibrary services. (Interlibrary Services)
